This is a new position for a Sr. Cost Accountant created out of steady growth with a large international manufacturer with multiple facilities.  It reports to the Controller.  Montgomery, AL location, approx. 700 employees at this facility, high volume sheet metal fabrication and assembly.  Their products are of very high quality and they carry an exceptional name in their industry.  Very good relocation package. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

- Will perform highly specialized advisory and control activities in the cost accounting area.

-  Prepare and analyzes all cost entries.  Supervise, value and reconcile physical inventories for raw materials, work in process, and finished goods.  Prepare detailed financial, cost, and   accounting reports for management purposes.

-  Responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and accuracy of company cost accounting system, including system generated cost accounting entries.  Responsible for LIFO inventory calculations as well as maintaining accurate LIFO cost pools and related cost elements.

-  Will be involved with interdivisional cost issues and cost studies.

QUALIFICATIONS

-  Four year degree in Accounting

-  6-10 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment

-  Experience with costing in an ERP environment

-  MS Office experience, excellent verbal skills, stable work history, requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

-  Experience in standard costing in a high-volume manufacturing environment preferred.  Database experience and Activity Based Costing experience is a plus.  Significant involvement in an ERP system implementation with particular emphasis on the cost module, preferably Oracle, is a big plus.

University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
