Our client is a growing global weight management company operating thousands of clinics in multiple countries. Their goal is to empower users to manage weight loss and combat global obesity.  Our client partners with medical professionals to help individuals educate and understand how to eat smarter. 

We are looking for a Director of Sales to be based in Berlin.  This is a key member of the team and will help build the foundation for success for the company’s brand in Germany.  The role will initially start as more of a sales position, assisting the Managing Director in building sales and pharmacy contacts.  As the brand becomes more established and the company begins to see results, this position will morph into a Director of Sales and this individual will build a sales team.

We are looking for someone who understands the pharmacy channel in Germany.  This individual will either have experience working as a pharmacist combined with some sales experience, or will have experience selling and building relationships with pharmacies in Germany.   This individual must be comfortable with generating sales, including cold-calling.  There is the expectation that this will become more of a management position once the company sees results.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Work in conjunction with the Managing Director to develop a comprehensive, strategic approach to introduce the company’s weight management protocol to pharmacists.

Develop a strong pipeline of sales activity.

Prospect, identify and follow-up on sales opportunities.

Create and build relationships with pharmacists and other key stakeholders.

Represent the company at trade shows and other relevant networking events.

Document important sales statistics, generating weekly, monthly and yearly sales reports.

Develop a nation-wide sales team, set targets and monitor results.

Provide effective leadership and management support for sales representatives.

Perform market research to identify new opportunities for growth.

Work closely with the marketing team to ensure the brand is well communicated to the German audience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working as a pharmacist OR experience selling into the pharmacy channel and existing relationships with pharmacists.

Sales experience, ideally experience selling to pharmacists.

Business development experience and experience cold-calling.

Management experience.

Highly effective leader, experience developing key performance indicators, measuring results and motivating teams.

Willingness to work in a start-up environment.

Fluent in both German and English.

Scientific background is a major asset.

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
