Sr. Accountant who is an Accounting Professional with demonstrated self-motivation and creativity, excellent communication skills (oral and written), and strong team orientation. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with co-workers and clients to develop and implement solutions to streamline processes and use strong financial and accounting skills in a variety of ways.
Role and Responsibilities Include:
Prepare and Analyze financial statements on both an IFRS and Statutory basis including analytic reviews distributed to management & parent company
Maintain compliance with internal controls and monitoring
Prepare and/or review accounting entries including such items as Reinsurance, Intercompany transactions with US and International affiliates, Program Business, and Additional Closing entries to finalize Monthly & Quarterly Reporting to Internal Management & International Parent Company.
Research accounting pronouncements and implement appropriate steps to comply with the accounting guidance.
Prepare & Review State Premium Tax returns and other filings in addition to monitoring correspondence as needed with the State departments of Insurance.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
3+ years’ experience with a large public accounting firm or corporate accounting department
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
Proficiency with all other Microsoft Office applications (Word)
Agility and ability to work in ambiguous situations
5 years’ experience with a large public accounting firm or corporate accounting department
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance & CPA
Knowledge of IFRS and Statutory Accounting Standards (NAIC)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Knowledge of Cognos Reporting & Query Studio.
Previous experience with SAP and SAP Business Warehouse reporting tool
