On behalf of our client, Lucas Professional Search Group is currently recruiting for a Financial Analyst to join their corporate office. The successful candidate will report to the CFO and will be responsible for creating and maintaining several budgets throughout the organization.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Ensure that all financial and procedural requirements are carried out in accordance with corporate financial policies
- Oversees the preparation, analysis, monitoring and reporting of budgets across the Company’s various divisions
- Lead and be accountable for the Payroll Services function in its day-to-day activities and for associated payroll processes and related financial information system controls and reporting requirements while ensuring compliance with all federal and provincial laws
- Administers the budget, within approved budget limitations, variances, accounting, auditing, internal controls and all other related financial and data matters and systems, liaising as required with other department managers and directors on interrelated issues and transactions
- Conducts analysis and prepares reports on financial and data matters including current financial status, forecasts, cost-benefit analysis and variance reporting
- Use of effective resource and expense management at all times to meet corporate policies and guidelines
- Build and foster strong working relationships and collaborative arrangements with internal and external customers, stakeholders and vendors
- Seek to improve processes and increase efficiency and effectiveness
QUALIFICATIONS
- University Degree in business or finance
- Possession of a finance designation such as a CA, CGA, CPA
- 3 years’ experience in public or private accounting
- Experience in financial analysis and forecasting, budget formulation, financial controls as well as preparing financial performance reports
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial best practices
- Ability to conduct research and analysis
- Able to summarize both quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Able to work in a team environment managing multiple tasks under pressure and to produce results within tight timeframes
- Sound judgement and the ability to handle matters of a confidential or sensitive
- Proficient in use of MS office products particularly Excel that pertain to financial and accounting systems, processes, analysis and system controls
Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
