JOB DESCRIPTION

The Product Engineering Team Member will guide the design process for new or altered Plastic Injection molded  under the hood/powertrain components.  The Engineer will gather requirements from the customer either in written form (ESOW, SOR) or in the form of background CAD data.  The Engineer will then guide the creation of CAD models in accordance with good design practices and company procedures to support the launch of new products to production. The Engineer will guide a single or group of designers in the creation and or maintenance of CAD data. The Engineer will support the Program manager at key customer meeting in all design and engineering functions.

Innovative solutions utilizing good problem solving techniques will be required.  The Engineer will lead the design process and must be able to carry out detailed Engineering Directions.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have:

·         Experience designing under the hood, powertrain plastic components and systems for the automotive industry

·         Knowledge of tooling and manufacturing 

·         Familiarity with Resin: Nylon, TPO, and/or PC/ABS

 

Requirements:

·         An engineering degree is strongly preferred.  

·         Travel once a month to the manufacturing facility which is a few hours away by car.

 

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
