WHY IS THIS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY?

This is an exciting oportunity to join a start-up operation assembling heavy vehicles to demanding Engineered specifications. The business model is "stall build" rather than moving assembly line.  The plant has been set up by Corporate Project Engineers and will now be turned over to resident management to run it.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Brand new heavy vehicle assembly plant will hire a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to accept plant from Corporate Engineering Team that's managed the project so far and complete equipment installation and commissioning, formalize and deploy robust, repeatable manufacturing processes that can be adapted to Engineering Changes and special options ordered by Customers. As the link between Product Engineering and Production, the Manager will lead a small team of Mechanical and Electrical Manufacturing Engineers striving to install equipment and tooling capable of producing designs as ordered and ensuring TAKT times are achievable with semi-skilled Assemblers. Initial focus will be on generation of SOP's, assisting with development of effective Training Programs, development of troubleshooting techniques and validation that designs are "fit for purpose" for manufacturing capabilities. As the plant is fully commissioned and debugged, natural focus will be on Continuous Improvement and "de-skilling" operations with tooling and assembly jigs. Ergonomic studies will be critical tool for further error-proofing and improving operations. Our ideal candidate brings solid experiences in low volume, complex mechanical assembly of large industrial, construction or military type vehicles, successful deployment of Lean Manufacturing techniques, SOP development, understanding of standard/build hour measurement and outstanding leadership and communications talents. A Bachelor Degree is the minimal requirement for consideration.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor Degree, ideally in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. Ten years of Manufacturing Engineering experiences in high mix/low volume compex vehicle assembly operations. Any experiences assembling heavy vehicles will highlight candidacy.  Strong team building and team leadership talents.

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
