The Operations Manager will be responsible for the management of all operational areas in the plant including production, maintenance, logistics, employee relations, quality and SHE. Good location just outside of Toronto. Will relocate from anywhere in Canada.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Providing direction in the establishment of the site long and short term business strategy, both short and long term.

Food Safety and Quality compliance by following company Quality Systems and implementing Food Safety in the overall plant operation.

Will oversee the master production schedule.  

Manages the employee shift schedules to insure adequate coverage.

Assist in the implementation of the preventive maintenance schedule. 

Manages all CapEx projects to meet budget and schedules.

Responsible for monitoring the training of employees and contractors. 

Utilize the SAP system to support scheduling and product release. 

Tracks month-end data in regards to raw materials and sales. 

Negotiates service contracts for the site.  

Managing the operation of the waste treatment facility.

Manages a budget of CAD 4mm.

QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in Engineering (chemical preferred)

10+ years of industrial experience including 5+ years of operations management experience in a "process" type industry (food ingredients, refining, chemical industry)

Experience with PSM (Process Safety Management) or related desired.

Solid technical skills with working knowledge of plant equipment including: fractionators, deodorizers, bleaching, refining, cooling towers, vacuums.

Strong leadership and motivational skills and ability to work in a Union environment.

Must be proficient in all Microsoft applications and knowledge of SAP.

 

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
