Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all maintenance and maintenance related projects, repairs, and planning on a plant-wide level including but not limited to regular maintenance, preventative maintenance, outages, project and process improvements related to plant equipment installation or modification. The overall objective of decreasing maintenance delays and improving equipment uptime for all operations plant-wide within an approved budget.
Essential Functions
- Communicates directly with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work throughout the facility.
- Support and implement plant lean manufacturing programs and procedures in the Maintenance Department.
- Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems, in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance program based on t best practices in the anodizing industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventative/predictive maintenance.
- Maintains and repairs maintenance shop equipment.
- Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
- Utilize and maintain the plant computerized maintenance management system (PMX) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
- Prepares reports, analyzes data and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems, tracking asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule attainment, etc.
- Supervises and directs shift plant maintenance personnel.
- Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
- Directs, maintains and enforces the safety program for the maintenance department; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance technicians.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in a maintenance leadership position.
- 5 years of maintenance experience desired. College Degree or Equivalent Experience required.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, electrical schematic reading, relay logic circuits, understand high voltage distribution and control up to 480VAC, understand VDC control circuits, and an understanding of PLC logic controllers.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatic pumping systems and hydraulic/fluid control systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturing (chemical processing and waste treatment) and metal stamping process equipment a plus.
