The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for the overall leadership of the Pharmacy and the delivery of quality services across the care continuum. The Manager will provide day to day management and operational oversight and will serve as a key member of the leadership team. 

  • Managing day to day operations of the department including staff schedule and associated budgets.  
  • Assuming the overall accountability and responsibility for the patience care and services provided. 
  • Facilitating the implementation of corporate projects such as the Quality Improvement Plan.  
  • Developing systems to monitor and manage unit operations, progress toward established goals, and patient care outcomes.  
  • Acting as a resource to the physicians and other staff in relation to the care of patients and unit operation. 
  • Identifying opportunities for the delivery of optimal patient care and implementing quality improvement initiatives. 
  • Facilitating an interdisciplinary approach to problem solving and decision making by the patient care team around program and patient care issues.  
  • Supporting and assisting Clinical Educators with the identification and planning of patient and staff education programs as well as the orientation of new team members.  
  • Participating in building a culture of safety and partnering with others to improve patient safety, processes, and systems.  
  • Developing and maintaining the standards, protocols, and policies/procedures to be in accordance with the regulations and expectations of the Ontario College of Pharmacists as well as ESHC.  
  • Understanding and adhering to regulatory requirements to ensure timely mandatory reporting as prescribed by the Regulatory body. 
  • Maintaining current knowledge of issues and trends in patient care and facilitating best practices.  


The Ideal Candidate: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Registered as a part ‘A’ Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
