Responsible for assisting with the adoption and implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) and subsequent IFRS reporting. Responsible for working directly with external consultants and designated personnel at Company.
General Project Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing workload, completing assigned tasks and keeping supervisor apprised of progress of assigned tasks and workload.
Responsible for actively participating in the communications between the Company and external consultants, working on the IFRS project to obtain a clear and concise message with regard to responsibilities, needs, and deliverables.
Responsible for attending and participating in training workshops provided to impacted Company personnel as decisions on accounting and reporting treatment are made throughout the project.
Responsible for researching accounting topics applicable to Company transactions with regard to international standards and considering all guidance provided by external consultants to document policy decisions with regard to each new applicable standard.
Responsible for working with Company personnel to ensure that new financial reporting requirements under IFRS are met with accuracy and timeliness.
Responsible for assisting with each phase of the project impacting financial systems as they apply to making changes to the Company’s financial reporting structure and management packages.
Responsible for working with Finance/Accounting personnel on implementing changes to schedules, reports, calculations, etc. to ensure that complete and accurate data support new financial reporting requirements.
Responsible for working with Finance/Accounting and Internal Auditors to develop processes and controls in the IFRS reporting process.
Special projects, as assigned
May participate on corporate committees
Seek appropriate staff training and development opportunities.
Maintain positive morale.
Four year Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
MBA a plus
Certified Public Accountant is preferred
2 – 4 years of experience in public accounting
Experience in the insurance industry a plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Organized with ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficiency in the use of Windows Excel, Word and Outlook
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
