Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting in a search for a Poultry Production Supervisor.  Position has overall responsibility for managing the pullets and/or layers on one of the company's farms. The primary objective is to maximize profitability of egg production while also meeting their high standards for egg quality, food safety, humane animal care, environmental stewardship, and working conditions for the poultry care attendants. Responsibilities include: flock management, planning and scheduling to ensure optimal egg production and coordination to the extent possible across all farms for work flow optimization as well as management purposes, managing the vaccination program.

Other duties include:
- Oversight of the procedures and processes related to egg production
- Monitor animal health and productivity of hens
- Keep current on accepted practices, current methods and new developments relating to animal health and nutrition
- Closely monitor animal production measurements and work with the Director of Poultry Management to implement necessary changes to ensure optimal long term economic outcomes
- Lead by example, actively participates in projects, looks for ways to improve practices, maintains a positive and constructive attitude, and is considered a team player
- Maintain a constructive and effective relationship with the production team to ensure that our husbandry practices and other poultry care practices are being properly implemented
- Act as a team player (supports and encourages co-workers and team members); treats all others with respect, including vendors so as to help maintain the standing of the farm in the community and egg and farming industry
- Spend appropriate level of time on a regular basis visiting each flock, examining the hens, their care, being observant of all relevant factors including the state of building and equipment repair and proper operation of equipment and interacting with peer managers and poultry care attendants to remain aware of all factors relevant to the caretaking of the pullets and laying hens
- Use poultry house environmental control portals to check relevant factors including feed and water use, temperatures, ventilation controls, lighting controls and alarm settings, and adjust or manage adjustments as appropriate


-Bachelor’s Degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Biology or related field preferred
-Experience working with Ag business growth, animal science, and nutrition
-Ability to effectively communicate with team members on decisions
-Highly organized
-Comfortable with technology currently in use and also new technology being introduced 
-Exhibit excellent people management skills
-Understanding of animal management
-Must be able to analyze and make sound decisions with confidence in his/her analytical skills while also giving appropriate consideration to competing thoughts and conclusions
-Knowledge of animal welfare standards and biosecurity, and state/federal agriculture/farming regulations and standards
-General knowledge of the regulations and standards for Safe Quality foods, OSHA, HAACP, and USDA
-Uncompromised ethics and integrity
-High degree of initiative
-Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and development of self and others
