Industry Sawmill

Location: Rural Maine

Company Description: This is an international company specialized in wood products for building envelope applications. One of their facilities is a Sawmill located in Maine, with approximately 180 employees and 120,000 Mbf of SPF output. (i.e. a rather large mill).

Job Description: Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the Mill’s maintenance, mechanical, and electrical/instrumentation activities. This includes:

- Managing the day to day activities of the entire maintenance team (about 15 trades people & Supervisors).

- Coordinating with Operations to maximize production.

- Participating in the development and implementation of PM and other key programs

- Participating actively in Health & Safety and Training programs .

Requirements: -Relevant education background. -7 to 10 years of experience in similar duties, showing a steady and successful progression up to the level of this position. Adequate background would be for example in the lumber industry, or any other heavy industry with similar equipment (forest products, materials handling, paper, construction materials etc) - Experienced in setting up and running a Preventative Maintenance program relevant to such heavy duty equipment running hard and continuously. -Obvious hands-on leadership abilities. - Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
