Encourages and maintains a high degree of employee involvement in safety programs. Leads by example.
Leads the site safety committee and first aid teams.
Performs incident investigations for accidents, near misses, injuries, spills, and other site-related emergencies.
Performs routine site inspections and program audits.
Maintains accurate and complete environmental, health and safety records in accordance with governing regulations and company policies.
Organizes and conducts EHS training for employees and contractors.
Performs worksite and incident trend analysis.
Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policies, procedures and manuals.
Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and remains informed about changes to regulations that impact the organization.
Maintains the site Hazard Communication Program – including SDS.
Reviews, approves and writes JSA’s
Functions as the facility resource for all environmental-related issues including, but not limited to: site air permit, emergency planning, storm water permit, hazardous waste management
This is a hands on role. There are no direct reports.
Reports directly to the Plant Manager and Regional EHS Mgr.
Strong computer skills for multiple EHS software programs we utilize
Comfortable with being on production floor and walking the grounds of the facility inside and out daily in a warm environment.



BS Degree in a technical discipline
5 years experience working in a Plastics manufacturing facility as a EH&S Engineer with at least 2 years managing the department
Must have managed a facility 500pp or more
Strong incident investigation, root cause analysis and continuous improvement skills
Direct EH&S experience must include leading and influencing organizations
Strong leadership, communication, influencing and collaborative skills
Computer literacy: Power Point, Word, Excel
Working knowledge of safety, industry hygiene and environmental testing methods
Analytical problem solving and decision making
Capability of Initiating Needed Safety Training
Knowledge of Behavior Based Safety
Strong English language competency – both verbal and written.

University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
