This OEM is a global company with 6 industrial sites and more than 1000 employees worldwide. As they continue to grow, they are in need of a Field Service Engineer, home based in the state of Massachusetts. The Candidate they seek will be a hardware based skill set (electrical or mechanical) who is currently doing field work ideally supporting and working with biomedical equipment, medical devices, advanced instrumentation and or clinical diagnostics. This will be a extremely customer centric (shows sense of urgency), solutions based professional that has adhered to and been successful in a “formal” service protocol type environment and brings strengths in product install, troubleshooting, calibrating and repair

Job Scope

YOUR MISSION

To provide service and support to customers with instrument maintenance, calibration, instrument troubleshooting and repair on capital equipment

Main Responsibilities

YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Provide service and support to internal and external customers with regard to instrument maintenance, calibration, instrument troubleshooting and repair
  • Install the methodologies on the instrumentation at customer´s premises and guarantee customer follow-up for technical/application problems
  • Make the preliminary visits to laboratories to agree on positioning of the instrumentation
  • Install and test the instruments at the customer site according to the time limits and methods defined
  • Participate in training processes that are designed to develop a highly skilled workforce capable of delivering results consistent with corporate goals and objectives
  • Understand and utilize documentation protocols and accurately and legibly complete all documentation on time to result in a product/process history consistent with GMP requirements
  • Perform and document calibration and preventative maintenance needed to result in equipment that is in good working condition, in accordance with corporate policies and in compliance with GMP

Experience

  • 3-5 years in a field directly related to the work
  • Previous experience in the IVD (In Vitro Diagnostics) and/or highly regulated FDA environments and biotechnology industry

Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge and skill in preventative maintenance in installing, servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and maintaining medical diagnostic or clinical laboratory instrumentation
  • Knowledge and understanding of electronics, medical terminology, chemistry, and physics
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic immunology and immunoassay technology
  • Ability to demonstrate and explain correct operation of equipment
