Our client is a progressive thinking organisation and one of the most respected, world market leaders due to their professionalism and drive in the market place. They have an opening for an AV Systems Engineer who can work closely with the project team to ensure the AV system design is functioning and the drawings and BOM are compatible and in-line with the customer requirements. This position reports to the Head of Projects & Operations.
What you’ll be doing:
Develop a good understanding of existing products via attending supplier training, demonstrations, reading manuals, trailing equipment, etc.
Be proactive in learning specifications and functionality of new equipment.
Be proficient in demonstrating.
Attend Kick Off meeting and keep all related design documents updated.
Drawing setup, general drafting and formal issue of AV drawings, including but not limited to:
- Wring diagrams, cable schedules and schematics of Audio-Visual systems;
- Floor plan, elevation and section drawings of Audio-Visual equipment and components;
- Equipment rack diagrams;
- Fabrication drawings of custom wall plates, patch panels and equipment mounting brackets for in-house and external manufacturing;
- Make changes to construction drawings and update drawings from site mark-ups.
Document management for system drawings and project correspondence.
Assist in creating and maintaining in-house library of AutoCAD blocks and symbols.
Evaluating and testing new AV equipment and technology.
Equipment review and performance research, ensure the equipment quantity and capability is in line with the specification or concepts.
Working with Building & Property Division, Architects, Consultants, AV Integrators and other key stakeholders on variety of projects.
Attend regular engineering meetings.
What you’ll need:
Essential – Experienced in the AV systems design of Crestron, Extron, AMX, and other AV equipment.
Desirable – Experience with AutoCAD, Visio & PowerPoint and the AV documentation standards.
Desirable – Understanding of audio-visual system components and electronic equipment.
Essential - Drivers Licence.
Desirable – computing, CTS (will be required to obtain CTS within 12 months period).
Low current electrical servicing of audio-visual equipment skills.
Problem solving and corrective/preventive action thinking.
