JOB DESCRIPTION

 

As the AVP - Operational Risk Analyst at Lakeland Bank you will be the second line of defense for Risk Management.

The Operational Risk Analyst is responsible for supporting an effective enterprise-wide operational risk management program, including adherence to policies, processes, standards and reporting.

The individual will assist in reporting of the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program, executing and improving upon frameworks including but not limited to Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and controls review and evaluation, and supporting Vendor Risk Management (VRM) activities within the Operational Risk Management function.

Key Responsibilites:

Coordinate the execution of the Risk Appetite Program and implement processes to support risk reporting and governance activities to ensure effective review and challenge across the business units.

Participate in quarterly meetings with members of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Committee to discuss and document changes in key risk indicators and emerging issues.

Coordinate with various business units and major functional areas to collect data and update ERM reports.

Record minutes of ERM Committee meetings and organize and archive ERM documentation.

Collaborate with the first line (business units) to facilitate the completion and review of RCSAs to include the assessment of key processes, risks, mitigating controls and action plan development.

Perform controls review and evaluation to assess the effectiveness of controls in the business unit.

Assist in identifying operational risk issues and monitor and report on the remediation of control deficiencies and other risk mitigation activities to ensure risks remain in line with the Bank’s risk appetite/tolerance.

Assist in preparing agendas, scheduling meetings, and creating and compiling reports and other materials for the Enterprise Risk Management Committee, Board Risk Committee, and Management.

Working alongside the Vendor Risk Officer:

Coordinate with business/relationship managers, Office of General Counsel, Information Security, Credit Underwriting and other key stakeholders to ensure proper due diligence has been completed for all new vendors, and periodic reviews are being performed for existing vendors, in accordance with our Client's policy.

Review vendor relationship summary/risk assessment forms to confirm the accuracy of vendor information, adequacy of due diligence, and completeness of documentation, and make final determination as to the vendor’s risk rating.

Develop, generate, distribute and review/analyze vendor risk management reports for executive and senior management and Board-level committee(s).

Monitor compliance with the Bank’s vendor risk management program and ensure follow up is performed by business/relationship managers; track, resolve/escalate and report outstanding exceptions.

Coordinate with Credit Underwriting and Information Security on scheduling and completion of annual financial and Service Organization Control (SOC or SSAE 18) reviews for critical and high-risk vendors in accordance with the Bank's policy and procedures.

Assist with special projects, including initiatives related to technology and automation (e.g., governance, risk and compliance systems or tools), and perform other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline

At least 5 years of experience in Operational Risk Management, Audit, Compliance, Risk Management functions, or equivalent

Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to interact with various levels of management

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks concurrently in an efficient and effective manner

Attention to detail, strong analytical, and problem-solving abilities

Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines

Proficient with Microsoft Office products

  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 18 (SSAE 18) standards, including Service Organization Controls (SOC) reports and Complimentary User Entity Controls

Experience with Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) software

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
