JOB DESCRIPTION

Accounting Manager – Houston, TX (east side)

Primary duties and responsibilities:

Supervise the month end close process to ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with IFRS and Parent Company instructions:

a. Review the monthly work papers prepared by Senior Accounts for accuracy pertaining to debt, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities

b. Review manual journal entries for accuracy of coding prior to reporting monthly results

c. Review general ledger account reconciliations for accuracy and completeness

d. Analyze financial results compared to budgets and operational metrics

e. Participate in the monthly financial statement presentation to senior management

Oversee the annual self-assessment for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and coordinate testing with internal and external auditors

Stay current on new and updated accounting guidance; Analyze business transactions and propose accounting treatment

Contribute to initiatives that automate and improve the efficiency of accounting processes

Maintain accounting process and internal control documentation; Coordinate updates as needed, and ensure processes and procedures are adhered to at all times

Act as an intermediary for requests from the Parent Company

Other responsibilities, as assigned by the Controller

QUALIFICATIONS

Required skills and qualifications:

1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial statement audit services with a Big Four firm

2. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Certified Public Accountant

3. Demonstrated analytical, leadership and decision-making skills

4. Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities at once

5. Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
