our client located in Brampton, ON is actively seeking a qualified candidate to fill this 5 month contract. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for sorting incoming mail, verifying account/vendor information and distributing invoices for approval
  • Accountable for matching invoices with supporting documentation (printed purchase order and packing slip/receiving report)
  • Proficiently review departmental coding on invoices
  • Accurately entering invoices into the AP system (SAP)
  • Responsible for printing cheques (issued to suppliers and customers), processing bill payment and wire/EFT, as well as voiding cheques/issuing stop payments when required
  • Accountable for matching cheque summary and invoices to ensure all supporting documents attached
  • Accurately and efficiently complete filing and photocopying, as required
  • Responsible for reconciling supplier statements to outstanding vendor payable and following up on differences
  • Accountable for following up with departments on process and/or supplier related issues

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements

  • Post Secondary College diploma (Accounting or Business preferred)
  • 5 years previous experience in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • 3 years of previous work experience in an Accounts Payable manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in combination with strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience using SAP ERP system, as well as BPCS or AS 400 for accounts payable activities
  • Flexibility in hours required to fulfill demands, particularly during month end
  • Strong ability to be detail-oriented in combination with excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Work knowledge
