JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Gain / Use understanding of PTAC and Air Curtain operations to provide technical support for all internal and external inquiries
  • Provide training for internal team members, key distributors and outside technicians
  • Answer technical support inquiries in a timely manner
  • Visit job sites as required
  • Conduct product commissioning when required
  • Track technical calls to identify trends
  • Perform training sessions on new product implementation and existing product portfolio to internal users and external contractors / distributors
  • Update BOM as requested by the inside sales team
  • Work with manufacturing team to improve quality control
  • Review returned units and provide determination of product status
  • Deliver results and meet targets to achieve set goals
  • Work to find information needed from others and proactively share own knowledge as part of mandate of position
  • Ask questions, listen and probe and summarize to gain understanding of customers’ goals and perspectives
  • Make decisions within scope of the role that are positive for the organization
  • Work with the mindset of respect, excellence, honesty, customer focus, and continuous improvement
  • Other duties within the position’s capability that may be required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College Diploma in HVAC or HVAC Technician or other technical  
  • 3 yrs+ experience working in HVAC related industry / sector, ideally with knowledge of PTAC units or Air Curtains
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams
  • Strong English communication skills – written and verbal; French language skills an asset
  • Ability to prioritize, manage a busy workload and work under pressure
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Sales driven and able to build relationships both internally and with customers
  • Self-motivated and ability to problem solve and influence senior colleagues
  • Commitment to completing the job and handling complaints effectively (taking heat out of a situation, understanding facts and finding an appropriate solution)
  • Results-oriented and customer focused
  • Solid computer skills (MS Office)
  • Class G Driver’s License (if travel on-site to support an install / commissioning is required) / per km company reimbursement
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs

Education:
Vocational/Technical/Diploma
