There is an excellent opportunity based on demand due to one physician retiring and another who relocated to be closer to family on the West Coast.
Founded in 1980, Allergy Associates treats both children and adults. Glastonbury is conveniently located approximately 10 miles southeast of Hartford, the state's capital city. Leased office space with 3,000 sq. ft. has 7 exam/procedure rooms for injections, Spiro, Eno. E.M.R. is Glenwood systems; patient information available on-line, supported by technology manager on-site. Services include: PFT, Niox FENO; Skin testing; Patch testing food & chemical; Exercise challenges; Xolair administration; Immune evaluations; PCN testing; Drug testing and food challenges.
Excellent payer-mix of 55-65% private insurance; Mediaid 20-25%; Medicare 5-10%; Self-Pay/Other <5%
Currently there is 1 physician and 3 mid-levels (no supervision required). Anticipated volume of 30 patients/day available.
Flexible to provide coverage evening hours and over the weekend. Offer Part-Time and Full-Time positions.

Responsible for diagnosing and treating allergic conditions. Review, evaluate, and document patient medical histories. Order and evaluate diagnostic tests such as skin pricks, intradermals, or hypersensitivity tests. Be able to order and perform allergen provocation tests such as food, environmental, and medication challenges. Assess the risks and benefits of therapies for allergic disorders.
Educate patients about diagnosis, prognoses, and treatments. Develop individualized treatment plans for patients, considering patient preferences, clincial data, or the risks/benefits of therapies. Treat patients with appropriate biologicals and coordinate the care of patients with other health care professionals. Be able to build a physician-to-physician referral network as part of marketing efforts to expand the patient database. Engage in self-directed learning and continuing education activities.
Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Allergy & Immunology and must be able to see both adult and pediatric populations.
Internal Medicine, Pediatrics or Osteopathic pathways are of consideration.
