This position is designed for progression and eventual promotion, first to Controller and ultimately to CFO.  


This position is to be located on site at the corporate office in Midttown, NY.

We are seeking to fill the Assistant Controller for our Company which reports directly to the US Controller.  In short, the position will be responsible to:

  • Provide management and direction to the Financial reporting staff.
  • Review and approve all journal entries.
  • Prepare internal management and GAAP financial statements.
  • Oversee and drive internal accounting consolidation work
  • Prepare various internal monthly and quarterly reports, analyses, commentary and related financial exhibits for senior staff.
  • Support and provide information required for the US & broader group accounting team for internal and external audits.
  • Act as primary US liaison with all external tax advisors to ensure necessary accounting information is provided as required, respond the related inquires and establish and maintain US tax compliance calendar.
  • Oversea financial reporting staff work to ensure intercompany accounts are properly reconciled and analyzed.
  • Participate in various projects and system initiatives as required.
  • In concert with the Controller and other members of the finance leadership team, coordinate, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close, enhance controls and reporting cycles.
  • Act as primary US subject matter expert for general ledger training, reporting and processing.



  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, accounting or economics.
  • A CPA designation highly desirable
  • At least 10 years of insurance industry experience required which may be obtained via the insurance industry or a combination of industry plus public accounting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Supervisory and staff development experience
