The candidate will provide engineering analysis and support with respect to proposed and in-process capital investments, to our production, maintenance, and quality control areas towards reducing operating costs, increasing productivity, reducing losses, eliminating labor-intensive operations and improving quality, and with respect to the identification and implementation of process improvements through utilizing lean principles, new technology, capacity and constraints studies. With respect to specific projects, they will be responsible for analyzing and providing, among other things, the justifications, specifications (including equipment, parts, components, and services), and scope of work, design drawings, P & I drawings and bidding documentation. They will serve as the subject matter expert for as well as the technical liaison between and among production, maintenance, other internal departments, and outside contractors, and will have responsibility for technical oversight of the work of outside contractors within the facility.
Develop system design solutions based on engineering principles. Create and finalize designs to meet project requirements. Test, maintain, modify and improve existing automatic systems, including ABB 800M series and Advant 400 series hardware and software, and PLC applications in ABB DCS-800xa system. Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor assigned engineering projects. Lead projects from beginning to end, including sophisticated high-voltage equipment projects. Provide engineering support to production, maintenance, and quality control areas in reducing operating costs, increasing productivity, reducing losses, eliminating labor-intensive operations, and improving quality. Identify and implement process improvements by utilizing Lean principles, new technology, and capacity and constraints studies.
