Currently looking for CVI and CVU nurses to work a 13 week contract here in Louisville, Kentucky.

 

CARDIOVASCULAR INTERVENTION UNIT/CVI - A fifteen-bed observation unit that is designated to take patients who are pre- and/or post-cardiac intervention from procedures such as percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), cardioversion and generator implants, etc.  Additional beds are available for those patients who indicate atypical chest pain and require cardiac monitoring until further tests are obtained to rule our Myocardial Infarction.  ACLS certification is required of all staff working on this unit. 

 

CARDIOVASCULAR UNIT/CVU - A twelve-bed unit that provides intermediate care to the cardiac surgery patients directly following the recovery phase.  Staff cares for cardiac surgery patients through the post-op phase until discharge. This unit can also care for cardiovascular patients of all diagnoses requiring this level of care.  ACLS is required for staff working on this unit. 

 

Specific competencies for this unit would be sheath management both radial and femoral.  Chest tube management,  external pacemaker and epicardial pacer wire management and overall management of the cardiac surgery population.   Additionally, these units designate beds for congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation and syncope patients.

 

We are looking for a full time night shift with an every third weekend commitment (Saturday and Sunday).

QUALIFICATIONS

RN BSN

ACLS

Kentucky Nursing License 

2 years travel experience 

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
