Great opportunity to join a global chemical industry leader as the plant Production Manager. This role is a part of the site management team with responsibility for all operations and continuous improvements for the 3 shift manufacturing site.  Ideal background will include LEAN, Six Sigma, MOC implementation as well as significant involvement with safety and training.

JOB DESCRIPTION

--- Direct the Production/ Operations Team (~25) responsible for delivering quality products on time and meeting customer expectations.

 

--- Implement production plan/ schedules, monitor in–process quality control, and communicate goals to team. 

 

--- Maintain compliance with SHE, 5S, ISO standards, and regulatory agencies for all production areas.

 

--- Drive the continuous improvement process / culture throughout manufacturing area by supporting the team in projects and use of other CI base tools.

 

--- Facilitate KPI meetings.  Drives for root cause and action plans to address any identified gaps.

 

--- Participate in customer or regulatory agency audits on site.

 

--- Responsible for performance management of functional team members including training, overseeing the workflow, appraising team performance, rewarding and managing performance of employees, and addressing employee relations issues.

 

--- Provide coaching, training, and accountability for production team in adhering to all policies, procedures, and safety guided by principles of Life Saving Rules and associated policies.

 

--- Participate in timely investigations and implementation of corrective and preventative action related plan for production areas.  Support and follow the policy of reporting incidents, near misses and improvement possibilities.

 

--- Manage and control Risk Assessment Permit to Work (RAPW) within the production area.

 

--- Work with maintenance teams to identify repairs and preventative maintenance needs. Provides prioritization to scheduled maintenance work in the production area.

QUALIFICATIONS

--- BS Chemical Engineering degree with 5+ years experience in Production Management for specialty chemicals, nutraceuticals, API, or food ingredient plant sites.

--- Solid leadership experience in managing people and handling multiple functions in chemical production operating units.

--- Proven success in leading LEAN, Six Sigma methodology in manufacturing plants

--- Demonstrated knowledge / experience in meeting OSHA, ISO, cGMP, ICH, FDA, HACCP regulations and standards.

--- Ability to work in the USA without sponsorship, now or in the future  

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
