The incumbent needs to have cross functional operational experience to perform effective risk management and plan the organization’s financial strategy while improving and growing operations.

Reporting to and working directly with the President / CEO, the successful candidate must be focused, self-starter who takes ownership and actively contributes as part of the Executive level decision-making team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

  • Participate in key decisions as an integral member of the Executive Team.

 

  • Maintain continuous lines of communication with executives and operational teams on all critical matters.
  • Advise the Executive team on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters. Provide direction and oversee the preparation of company financial forecasts, AR, AP, purchasing, inventory and information technology.
  • Analyze the company’s financial results with respect to profits, trends, projections, costs and compliance with budgets.
  • Work with the team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate report for tracking.
  • Mentor, develop and monitor team performance using a supportive and collaborative approach; assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities and evaluate results. Conduct annual performance appraisals, and salary changes for finance team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proven track record of success in facilitation and the progress of organizational changes and keep development, within a growing company.
  • Excellent judgment and proactive problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Manage relationships with financial institutions, lawyers, accountants and consultants.
  • Superior management skills, with the ability to coach, mentor, influence and engage direct and indirectly.
  • Minimum requirement – a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA) with 7 – 10 years’ experience in a senior finance management role. Experience working with and presenting to Boards and Board committees would be an asset.
  • To meet the demands of the role, be available to work flexible hours from time to time, including weekends.
  • Some travel is required.

Reporting to the President / CEO, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) has a critical role in overseeing the financial and operational functions of the organization.

This role will function as part of the three-person Senior Management Team, responsible for the operational performance of the company. 

You will provide accurate and timely reporting on the operational financial performance as well as detailed analysis for long-term planning.

You as the ideal candidate, is a critical thinker who takes initiative while demonstrating excellent judgement and a keen awareness of how the work connects with other areas of the organization and community.

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
