The Director of Retail will cultivate strong productive relationships with key accounts in the category. This position is also responsible for establishing strong relationships with design and facility professionals, as well as leading consultantsin the Retail industry to obtain specifications. The position will work independently and alongside commercial representatives to further penetrate the category, and also work with Corporate Sales Team to cultivate direct business opportunities. This position requires extensive travel throughout the US and Canada. The person in this role will be positioned as the Retail expert in our business and will be the leader in segment effort and work closely with marketing to develop targeted messaging and deliverables.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Demonstrate an indepth understanding of the industry, LEED certification and Green issues
Learn and understand changes in Retail industry standards and regulatory codes
Provide excellent sales support
Conduct continuing education seminars
Research and profile key prospect lists and cultivate professional selling relationships with retail organizations and facility managers, general contractors, millwork/casework companies, OEMs, and architectural & design community that support the segment
Provide samples for commercial projects and update product libraries with designs and marketing materials
Identify and participate in national Retail design trade shows to increasing brand awareness
Become actively involved in industry associations
Coordinate, train, guide and lead Marketing Teams, Market Representatives and District Managers through efforts in this segment
Identify and enroll qualified Commercial fabricators
Coordinate all project activity with the Commercial Nerve Center
Maintain accurate records in Salesforce CRM
Achieve specification and sales activity goals
Develop national strategy/plan
Entertain clients in various social settings, such as dinners, sporting events and industry events

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have demonstrated sales leadership experience in building big box and retail channels (i.e., Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, etc)
 

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
