The Commercial Loan Officer is a key role with the bank in this market as they desire to grow their presence locally.  This would be one of two local Commercial Relationship Managers to service the market from Hampton to Newport News to Williamsburg.  This position offers great visibility to senior management and an opportunity to shine and stand out as a performer.  Lots of autonomy and independence in this role. 


The Commercial Loan Officer will be calling on companies of any size in Williamsburg, Newport News and Hampton or what is referred to locally as the "Peninsula Market."  Both C&I lending to operating companies and also CRE lending.  Need is for a full service RM to work deals from cradle to grave.  Basic credit skills are required although you don't have to be an underwriter.  The more credit knowledge the better so that the RM can present a strong argument and defend deals to the Regional Credit Officer and Managment or Executive Loan Committee.  Knowldege of the local market, established COIs and network are preferred but not required.  


Minimum of 2 years on the line as a Commercial Loan Officer or Business Banker.  Local market knowledge preferred.  Credit skills required to enable the RM to structure deals and defend deals in commiittee but this RM will have plenty of assistance from the credit dept. collecting financials and doing spreads, analysis and underwriting. 

University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
