Corporate Functions Internal Audit Program Manager

The Corporate Functions Internal Audit Director supports Chief Audit Executive in providing the Audit Committee and executive management with independent assurance and advisory services intended to gauge and expand the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes of the client bank, its affiliates, wholly owned holdings and entities.

This opportunity will lead and manage projects with enterprise-level impact and involvement from senior and executive level management. Deliver direction in the execution audits impacting, along with providing direction to, other Corporate Services team members that support the execution of audit work.


Accountabilities of the Corporate Functions Internal Audit Program Manager include:

  1. Preparing and reviewing board, committee, and other stakeholder reporting for completeness, uniformity with other internal audit materials, and precision of the most up-to-date information.
  2. Monitor advancement of enterprise-wide project in contrast to plans, real-time. Provide test to executive management for any postponements that could present risk to the bank. Heighten any key issues to the Chief Audit Executive in a timely fashion.
  3. Draft reports to communicate project purposes, scope, independent analyses, challenge, and outcomes.
  4. Perform appropriate reviews of supporting professionals to safeguard work encompasses pertinent facts to support independent analysis and conclusions on technical subject matter and regulatory requirements while obeying to internal audit policies and procedures.
  5. Appraise and perform real-time credible challenge to management as key processes, agendas, policies and procedures are designed to support ongoing adherence to regulatory requirements.
  6. Independently address unique and complex conflicts with management real-time. Escalate key issues to CAS management (capital, liquidity and corporate functions Audit Director and the Chief Audit Executive as necessary) along with the appropriate Bank senior management (respective SVPs and EVP of CCAR).
  7. Planning complex projects; supporting stakeholder intake. Assessing work performed by finance, risk, and compliance professionals.


Corporate Functions Internal Audit Director - Preferred Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:


  • Proven and established ability to understand key laws, regulations and guidance as they effect the Bank’s operations.
    Demonstrated Deep collaboration skills and experience navigating in a large company across cross-functional teams of finance, risk, legal, credit, quantitative, and business line professionals in connection with key initiatives.
  • Robust knowledge of banking industry relevant risk management, compliance and audit practices.
  • Prior interaction with regulatory agencies and regulators.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as comfort and experience presenting intricate subject matter to senior management.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Expert knowledge of risk management and regulatory environment for large banking institutions (greater than $10 billion in assets).
  • Capacity to build and unceasingly improve working relationships with internal audit peers, business line leaders, and partners (risk and/or compliance).
  • Understanding of domestic banking laws and regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 12 (twelve) or more years of experience in an applicable risk management environment
  • Exhaustive understanding of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards and the common definition of internal controls.
    Applicable certifications
  • Capacity to autonomously address unique and complex conflicts with business line and effectively negotiate as needed.
