 Cost Accountant - PA

Position description: We are looking for an individual with a strong manufacturing background to aid us  in improving our accounting system and processes. This individual will lead project teams through implementation of Cost Centers, Operational budgeting, Inventory valuation, production cost analysis and  many other exercises to help us provide accurate costs of our products and look for opportunities to better control our costs.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary duties and Responsibilities:

• Implement Cost Center reporting by working with the Plant Controller and Operations to establish  Cost Center budgets and analyze spending against production performance

• Maintain the integrity of inventory valuation and product costing

• Work with design engineers and production to appropriately cost new products and large product  revisions

• Run all Cycle Count program objectives and work with the Inventory Control team to review  performance and provide reports for audit requirements

• Establish systems for capturing and reporting production efficiency and variances for all  production lines

• Review and Maintain activity rates that accurately reflect production costs

• Perform studies for cost management initiatives, capital projects, investment opportunities and  other projects

• Evaluate and report profitability of top customer accounts

• Assist with Month End processes such as inventory reporting, Fixed asset depreciation, account  reconciliation and analytical reporting

QUALIFICATIONS

Job Requirements:

• Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience

• Must have cost experience in a manufacturing setting

• Ability to lead projects with a cross-functional team

• Experience with ERP software is essential, strong preference in SAP

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA, CMA and/or MBA preferred

• Ability to multi-task In a fast-paced environment

• Acutely developed attention to detail and process orientation

• Possesses strong analytical skills with an interest in manufacturing operations • Punctual and capable of meeting deadlines with excellent follow-up skills.

• Ability to prioritize multiple projects effectively and appreciate lean manufacturing principles for  simplicity and waste elimination

• Proficient writing, administrative skills and computer skills.

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
