JOB DESCRIPTION

Performs activities related to the design of company products on a global basis. Responsible fo rproduct engineering, including the translation of customer needs into program and product design rules which are used to create Bills of Materials and Bills of Operation for the Company worldwide.   Utilizes standard operating procedures, routings and design constraints as established by Process Engineering to design products to achieve product cost targets and ensure product integrity.  Works with Process Engineering to prevent and resolve production and technical issues related to product design. Works with Customers, Sales and Merchandising as the technical point of contact to set the criteria for selection of materials and manufacturing methods for producing products for customers to best meet their overall needs and objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university with related experience. Technical experience preferred in the following areas: textiles, embroidery, printing, coating, adhesives, film, packaging, robotics, automation. Lean Six Sigma skills required. Ability to competently recommend equipment and materials to use in the manufacture of company products and assist in preparation and justification of capital requests, including equipment expenditures and costs associated with implementation of new materials.  Must have some experience with Bill of Materials and Bills of Operation.

Individual should be skilled at least at the intermediate level on the Microsoft Office Suite of software products and must become proficient with company specific software programs within three months of being assigned to this position.

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
