We are seeking a strategic leader to join our team as its new Director of Marketing encompassing all Email, Direct Mail, and CRM disciplines. As a Director of Marketing, you will be responsible for standing up a well-designed program encompassing prospecting new customers, retargeting, cross-selling, and retention across multiple mediums. Company has made significant investments in direct mail and email programs and needs a strategic leader to take the reins on all operational and optimization efforts.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re looking for an experienced self-starter who can guide a team and define strategy for large multi-pronged campaigns in direct mail, email, and other CRM tactics. Details include:

Own campaign strategy including segmentation, testing matrices, package components, drop intervals, and more

Automate key functions such as triggered win-back and other retargeting campaigns across mediums

Build a process that is best-in-class incorporating waterfall deadlines and clearly outlined responsibilities across internal resources and external vendors

Develop measurement techniques and reporting mechanisms to help measure response and subsequent funnel activity against a predicted curve

Manage and mentor an expert team of 2 channel leads (direct mail + email) plus an associate 

Work with other marketing leaders to integrate campaigns across disciplines including content marketing, paid media, and more

Present strategy and results to company management

Optimize logistics for campaigns including print vendors, credit bureaus, marketing platforms and more

Work closely with internal partners in product and engineering to ensure the proper technology and product features are in place for proper collection and measurement

Work with our data teams to ensure responders are properly measured and attributed

Manage and optimize marketing response models to optimally prospect

Optimize email campaign deliverability and response

Collaborate with our creative, marketing analytics and data science teams to support more robust campaigns

QUALIFICATIONS

Number one skill needed:  Pre-approved/pre-screend direct mail in LENDING OR CREDIT CARD.

Must have managed a team of at least 3.  Must have worked with credit bureaus and understand how models work, what needs to be done to improve response rates. 

Need experience in credit, lending-based company. 

Minimum 5+ years of direct mail experience. Have to know the indusry.  Also, know how email works in correlation with direct mail, how you can combine actions and increase response rates. 

5+ years of relevant professional experience in direct marketing within direct mail and email disciplines within the ecommerce or fintech industry

3+ years management experience

Deep familiarity and hands-on experience with direct mail process, data manipulation, appending data sources, and response model optimization

Financial services experience – in particular a background working in credit-based companies that utilize prescreened direct mail for customer acquisition

Understanding of credit models

Exceptional quantitative skills & fluency with data and its interpretation in business

Experience in building campaign-level performance analysis and executive reporting for campaigns

Expert in drawing insights from data to drive decision making

Intermediate to advanced proficiency with marketing automation platforms (Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, etc.)

Understanding of broad marketing tracking methodologies including Google Analytics, Segment, and other web analytics tools

Great attention to detail & quality

Bachelor’s Degree in Relevant Quantitative Field or Equivalent Experience is required

Results-oriented and passionate about using data to drive growth
