We are seeking a Plant Manager to plan, direct, and execute the site's operational plan, provide leadership to assigned resources:  

 

  • Quality, Procurement, Operations, Sales, and Human Resources.  Ensure conformance with standards, policies, regulations, and procedures within the scope of authority.  Maximize customer satisfaction through on-time delivery of products which meet required specifications.

 

  •   World-class producer of aero engine and industrial gas turbine components, including airfoils, rings, disks and forgings.  We excel in vacuum melted superalloys, machining, performance coatings and hot isostatic pressing for high performance parts that enable the next generation of quieter, more fuel-efficient aero engines and cleaner power generation.

 

 

Specific Responsibilities:

 

  •     Develops annual manufacturing plans in consultation with direct supervisors to ensure proper deployment of resources to achieve required levels of production and to meet customer delivery requirements.

 

  •     Coordinates and directs the development and implementation of business plans and forecasts, securing corporate approval of selected goals and objectives, administering and following up to ensure successful accomplishment of the plan.

 

  •     Provides leadership to subordinate managers and to all assigned employees. Ensures open communications and responds to employee concerns in an appropriate manner. Seeks to improve the knowledge, skill and ability of people. Deals proactively with substandard performance.

 

  •     Responsible for increasing manufacturing speed, reduction of lead times and controlling operating costs through the application of Theory of Constraints (TOC) and maximization of daily throughput.

 

  •     Ensures full compliance with EHS standards, policies, procedures and processes for the entire site.  Confirms that incidents are thoroughly investigated and that root causes are identified and remedied on a systematic basis. Fosters a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.

 

  •     Interfaces directly with customers, in concert with Sales and Marketing Management and Account Managers to resolve problems related to delivery, quality and other issues, strives to address customer concerns in a responsive, professional manner while protecting the interests of the company.

 

  •     Oversees and facilitates activities with other departments such as Sales and Marketing, Engineering RandD, Purchasing, Accounting, Information Systems, and Human Resources.

 

  •     Monitors and controls the operation of the business, reviewing and analyzing a variety of sales, financial, production and other staff reports, measuring progress, assessing results, and formulating corrective actions.

 

  •     Continually improves the performance of the Manufacturing organization through the application of ABS principles. This includes the development of a continuous improvement mindset within the Manufacturing organization.

 

  •     Participates with Purchasing personnel to develop partnerships with vendors which produce mutually beneficial arrangements related to purchased item quality, quantity and pricing. Ensures that concerns and issues related to purchased resources are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.

 

  •     Interacts positively and effectively with personnel, both internal and external to the organization. This may include shop floor personnel, management at various levels throughout , and governmental regulators. Participates in external activities to secure a positive community image of the Company.

 

  •     Analyzes and directs the preparation of Capital Appropriation Requests to secure required capital equipment for projects meeting or exceeding capital return targets.

 

  •     Directs the activities of assigned human resources and makes recommendations on hiring, disciplinary actions, promotions, demotions, terminations and salary adjustments.

 

  •     Maintains full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with the  Guide to Business Conduct.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution 
  • Ten years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Five years of senior-level supervisory leadership roles
  •  

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Operations
  • Ten years of experience in a metal manufacturing environment
  • A Master's degree
  • Experience in Aerospace and Forging
  • Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
