Our client located in GTA West is actively looking for a qualified candidate to fill this full-time permanent position.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

·        Responsible and accountable for developing and maintaining strategic plans for the country’s production operation in combination with ensuring compliance is met with local and corporate Health and Safety requirements and cGMP regulations

·        Efficiently and effectively create and implement the annual budget and updates

·        Accountable for liaising between the site’s senior management in Canada as well as various other locations

·        Responsible for proactively leading production and logistics of the site in the direction of the outlined company objectives in combination with assisting with developing and defining projects/ delegation

·        Proficiently monitor the company’s performance in relation to the key productivity indicators for the company’s operations

·        Accountable for creating and maintaining the cost saving initiatives

·        Actively responsible for providing guidance, coaching and leadership to employees and staff members while creating and maintaining proper succession planning on a regular basis

·        Responsible for overseeing the completion of tasks and properly delegating responsibilities and expectations to managers

·        Accountable for actively participating and completing performance reviews for assigned staff in a timely manner

·        Effectively and efficiently develop and implement corporate policies

·        Actively responsible for coordination of the process reaching weekly and monthly production plans in accordance to safety policies and procedures

·        Responsible for meeting production schedules on a regular basis and ensuring that manufacturing is accomplished in accordance with the company’s engineering standards

·        Accountable for working with cross-functional teams to review the completed investigations (NCIs) while determining the root cause to ensure the proper CAPA is implemented

·        Proactively work with the Materials Management department in regards to materials and scheduling issues

·        Accountable for participating in company special projects outlined by management

·        Proficiently manage and coordinate technical resources to support the packaging and compounding operations

·        Responsible for confirming that production is in accordance with cGMP regulations and that employees are actively following health and safety policies/ procedures

·        Efficiently and effectively confirm that the inventory is produced and stored in compliance to the outlined documentation to ensure the product quality

·        Responsible for reviewing and approving instructions for production operations and implementations

·        Accountable for reviewing production records and ensuring they have been evaluated and signed by the correct authorized personnel

·        This position is actively responsible for the qualification and maintenance of the equipment, site and department

·        Responsible for ensuring the correct validations are completed and accurate

·        Accountable for being the point of authorisation for master batch records and validation protocols

·        Ensuring that the beginning training and continuing training of the staff in the department is implemented and modified according to changes

·        The Director of Production is to represent the manufacturing and packaging department on appropriate committees

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

  • BSc Degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceuticals, Business or Engineering, or in a related discipline
  • Post- Graduate Certificate in Marketing, Finance, Business, Business Development, or a related discipline
  • 10 years previous experience in production management/ planning
  • Working background in Quality, Regulatory and Customer Audits
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in combination with excellent organizational skills
  • Previous working experience with GMP guidelines, Health Canada guidelines, FDA guidelines and TPD (Therapeutic Program Directives)
  • Excellent management skills with the proven ability of team development
  • Previous working experience with SAP, ERP, and MES is an asset
  • Strong experience working with external contractors, consultants, manufacturers, suppliers, and industry peers
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with logistics and production on a professional level
  • Strong technical knowledge and skills in combination with operational excellence
  • Proven working ability to deal with internal departments on a cross-functional level

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
