This role will direct the development, implementation and maintenance of safety systems for the site, reporting directly to the Plant Manager.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Description of Responsibilities:

 

  • Develops, implements and manages safety programs to ensure the site follows applicable regulations and requirements, and company policies and procedures
  • Provide training, mentoring and direct assistance to plant management teams to build site capability to thoroughly analyze incidents for root causes and contributing factors. Also, providing quality assurance and oversight to draft incident and root cause analysis reports prior to submission to corporate management
  • Participate in EHS audits, Process Hazard Analyses and other elements of the Process Safety Management program
  • Ensures accurate and timely record keeping and document management including the submission of periodic reports to regulatory agencies
  • Lead, coordinate, and participate in safety and health performance improvement initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements to be considered for this role:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or related
  • 5+ years of progressive experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Must be knowledgeable of safety regulations including but not limited to: OSHA and EPA
  • Experience managing a Process Safety Management (PSM) program strongly preferred
  • Good presentation skills including excellent written and oral communication skills
