Electrical / Electronics Design Engineer focusing on new product development for electrical and electromechanical equipment and controller systems for a leading supplier of cabin management & inflight entertainment systems. Based in Brisbane head office with some travel opportunities to US, Mexico and Europe.

Working as part of a locally based team and closely collaborating with US based counterparts, you will perform a wide variety of complex electrical engineering design and analysis tasks to determine design solutions for electrical and electromechanical equipment and systems. This will include product requirements gathering, design, test, electrical analysis, integration and documentation. You will work with the operations team for material review, component selection, manufacturing and assembly and liaise with the certification team and relevant external authorities to facilitate review/approval of documentation.
We are seeking engineers with at least 5 - 7 years of recent experience in complex electrical engineering design and product development. You will have excellent understanding of engineering theory and principles to determine the best solutions and have solid knowledge of materials properties, electrical components, printed circuit boards and assemblies, fabrications processes, PCB schematic, layout and routing. You will have ideally worked with Altium Designer and have experience in firmware design for embedded products (C/C++ preferred), as well as experience in board bring up and testing, and 2D CAD tools (Draftsight preferred). Your strong electronics troubleshooting skills enable you to successfully collaborate in a cross-functional setting, where the most optimal design is the result of great teamwork. A relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical/Electronics/Avionics Engineering will be highly regarded and you will be available to undertake international travel to the US on a regular basis.
