URGENT NEED TO FILL THESE 2 POSITIONS!

Designs, tests, install, and maintain large-scale electronic equipment or machinery for use in manufacturing or power generation or transmission. May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments. Applies principles and techniques of electrical engineering to accomplish goals. Responsible for the overall condition and reliability of plant electrical systems to ensure a safe and continuous operation. Manages electrical maintenance and capital projects as needed.

The Hiring Company’s Fortier Facility is just outside of New Orleans, Louisiana. It manufactures high quality Acrylonitrile Hydrogen Cyanide, Melamine, Oleum, Sulfuric Acid, Acrylamide, Methyl Methacrylate, Ammonia and Methacrylic Acid that are used in a variety of everyday applications. They are experts at converting energy into industrial chemicals on a large scale. The facility sits on 800 acres with approximately 460 employees with annual payroll of $ 44 million and annual spend of 350 Million or more making 2.5 billion pounds of annual production. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Electrical design consistent with NEC, NFPA, and OSHA standards, project engineering to support capital improvement program, leading troubleshooting efforts to correct problems in the system and resolving all electrical equipment reliability issues and malfunctions. 
  • Coordinating and planning plant electrical shut downs for both minor and major plant outages. 
  • Provide consultations on matters relating to safety, reliability, and the selection of equipment for end-of-life replacement.  This will involve working with the following equipment types:
    • Voltage distribution networks which include medium and low voltage distribution systems (34.5 kv, 13.8 kv, 4.16 kv and 480 Volts)
    • Substations, transformers, and switchgear
    • 4,160 volt starters and protective relays
    • Emergency generators, motors, UPS systems and batteries 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • In depth knowledge of electrical power distribution systems from 35KV to 480V

  • Ability to work nights and Turnarounds as needed

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Minimum:  BSEE from an accredited university
  • Minimum: 5 years of industrial electrical engineering experience

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Licensure: Registered professional engineer in Louisiana or ability to acquire PE

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
