JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Analyze plant processes, design and implementation improvements
  2. Experience with programming skills in a DCS (Delta-V) and a PLC (Allen Bradley) control language
  3. Troubleshoot issues with hardware and processes
  4. Fault analysis of hardwire relay logic, motor control circuits, motor power circuits of 120V to 480V 3- phase
  5. Ensure compliance with company EHS, OSHA, PSM and MOC Documentation
  6. Assist on developing Capital Projects related to controls and power systems
  7. Fault analysis of PLC based systems with control logic modification
  8. Design new control circuits, modifications of existing instrumentation and electrical systems
  9. Provide support to Instrument and Electrical Technicians that are beyond their capabilities
  10. Serve as back-up to the Plant Controls Engineer for Capital Projects and control systems
  11. Act as the primary contact for small electrical/instrumentation expense projects and electrical contractors
  12. Support the daily planning functions by assisting with parts identifications and job scopes for electrical and instrumentation needs
  13. Assist in scoping, costing and managing controls systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. BS Electrical Engineering degree
  2. At least 2 years of experience of Electrical, Instrumentation and/or Controls experience
  3. Experience with Motor Control Logic
  4. Knowledge of PSM, MOC and ISA Standards
  5. Familiar with installation and setup of Variable Frequency Drives and Soft Starters
  6. Proficient with Programmable Logic Controller Programming
  7. Experience with electrical panel design
  8. Ability to read blueprints
  9. Prefers experience with Allen Bradley (SLC 500, PLC 5 and / or Control Logix)
  10. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH DELTA V (Emerson).

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
