The Engineering Supervisor directs a department of Mechanical & Electrical Engineers that supports manufacturing operations in production departments of the plant. Primary responsibilities include critical project management, resource allocation, technical and strategic information management and people development. Develop objectives to assure all plant equipment is monitored and maintained to assure maximum efficiency and dependability while developing recommedations for improvements, replacements and alterations to equipment and operations. Lead, direct and supervise a team of engineers as they develop, test, modify and deploy solutions to technical problems. Steer startegic decision-making around future technology selection and best practice sharing. Analyize and allocate resources by balancing project priority and business demand; aligns resources to accomplish assignments, projects and continuuous improvements. Coordinate activities with other units to develop strategy and strategic plans to achieve world-class performance as an absolute leader in their industry. Work with Project Management to make detailed plans to accomplish business objectives. Set and manage budgets for capital, expense and cost improvement activities. Define and develop project specifications. Develop people by recruiting, hire, train and mentor engineers and suuort staff. Write performance reviews and calibrate feedback for people development, growth and improvement. Provide plant support through maintenance, troubleshooting, energy, MRO, disaster prevention and manufacturiing engineering technologies. Review, approve and modify designs; manage introduction of new technologies. Deveop concepts and specifications for new manufacturing equipment. Verfiy changes, designs and projects are compliant with National and Local Codes (safety, building, fire and electrical).
A BS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Must have an Electrical Engineering background. A hands-on Engineering Supervisor with 5 - 10 years' experience within a manufacturing environment with experience leading teams and projects of significant impact and size. A background with PLCs and comes from a heavy industry (not from oil & gas industry). SAP experience.
Preferred qualifications: MS or MBA degree. Plant Engineering or Maintenance Management experience. Exposure to international manufacturing environments and projects. Six-Sigma Black Belt or Lean Certification, Professional Engineer (PE). 5 years Project Managment experience or Project Managment Certifiicate (PMP). Functional Safety Engineer Certificate. Working knowledge of PLC programming and SQL.
