Summary:
Asset reliability is fundamental to the safe, efficient, and predictable operation of the site. The Engineering and Maintenance Manager is the owner of engineering, maintenance, turn-arounds, and construction services on Site. In addition to ensuring effective and efficient execution of the site’s owner and contractor engineering and maintenance activities, the E&M manager is responsible for driving continuous improvements and a strong reliability culture across the various production units. As a member of the Site Leadership Team, the E&M manager is responsible for providing leadership and development to own staff and others. The successful candidate will be responsible for development and implementation of best-in-class strategies to improve overall mechanical and instrument/electrical integrity. Working in partnership with the various production units on site, the E&M manager will play a key role in the development and implementation of effective asset management strategies which have a heavy focus on predictive and preventative maintenance. The role reports into the Chief Operating Officer.

The role reports into the Chief Operating Officer. 

Responsibilities:

The following are responsibilities are required duties of the E&M Manager. Key responsibilities are but not limited to:

• Identifying, developing and implementation of corrective actions in regards to asset reliability. 
• Assuring long term training and development of team members is in place.
• Creating, development, and implementation of overall contracting strategy for the Fortier Manufacturing site.
• Responsible for engineering and maintenance workforce including employee and contract resources.
• Overseeing the required maintenance, modifications, and technical assurance is performed on all equipment. 
• Monitors the health and effectiveness of mechanical integrity programs. 
• Own the root cause failure analysis work processes which include the implementation of the work process and the associated cultural changes. (This includes development and tracking of KPIs that monitor performance)
• Manage contractors, which involves working with Contracting/Procurement pertaining to
• Identify and implement opportunities to implement new technologies to support asset reliability such as the utilization of drone, digitization, new inspection techniques, and updated equipment technology. 

Provide leadership and direction for effective planning and execution of site turn-arounds.
• Owner of the site capital plan. 


The Hiring Company’s Fortier Facility is just outside of New Orleans, Louisiana. It manufactures high quality Acrylonitrile Hydrogen Cyanide, Melamine, Oleum, Sulfuric Acid, Acrylamide, Methyl Methacrylate, Ammonia and Methacrylic Acid that are used in a variety of everyday applications. They are experts at converting energy into industrial chemicals on a large scale. The facility sits on 800 acres with approximately 460 employees with annual payroll of $ 44 million and annual spend of 350 Million or more making 2.5 billion pounds of annual production. 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

• BS in Engineering or Technical Discipline
• 15+ years of equipment and facility maintenance experience and/or engineering in manufacturing industry
• Must possess strong leadership skills to lead, direct and develop multi-skilled maintenance and utility technicians. Strong track record of mentoring and developing direct reports
• Crisis Management
• Possess an expert capability to engage technically and to influence cross-functionally
• Strong communication and negotiation skills 
• Prior leadership in unionized environment is a benefit
• Strong contract management skills
• Excellent analytical thinking with the ability to break down complex situations
• Experience in leading turn-arounds is a benefit
• Strong financial acumen and agility to navigate a highly entrepreneurial organization is needed to be successful
