Our Toronto client is part of an international company developing and selling biological kits/ detection systems for human medical disorders. Most of these detection kits run on automated lab equipment, controlled by IT software and hardware, and are connected to a laboratory / hospital LIS (Lab Information System). They require a Bilingual Field Application Support Scientist, based in Mississauga, able to travel to customer locations across Canada. This person will ensure effective implementation of instruments, kits, etc. in clients’ laboratories, focusing on laboratory software and networking.


• Server set up, client-server LIS connection, and networking.

• Stay up to date re company instrumentation, products, software, and techniques.
• Arrange pre-site and pre-delivery inspections, delivery and installation dates together with Sales, Service Engineer, and customers.
• Speak with German headquarters re assay programming and ensure it is complete and functioning before shipment.

• Submit the registration forms for specialized automated diagnostic equipment and associated software.

• Arrange for shipping of instrument, kits, and samples for the projects.
• Coordinate with Service Engineer with instrument installations as needed.
• Training on instruments and products both in English (and French if possible) during implementation on site.
• Assist with validation studies and workflow - defining protocols, running samples, data evaluation, and network reporting.
• Follow up after go-live.
• Liaise with European headquarters for site-specific technical requirements.
• Documentation, regulatory and safety requirements.



• B.Sc. Life Sciences, Biomedical engineering or related technical discipline.
• ****Basic SQL background and database knowledge.

• Basic software understanding including client server relationships.
• Strong networking, Windows setup, and MS Office computer skills.

• Excellent communication, organizational, time management, interpersonal, customer facing skills.

• Ontario Driver's licence.

• French communication skills preferred.
• Computer science/ software engineer degree or degree in related field.
• Experience running IVD assays.
