|Salary:||$100.00 - $110.00 - US Dollars - Hourly|
|Employer Will Recruit From:||Nationwide|
Our client is seeking a G&E Solution Architect for two projects - Relay Data Settings & Gas Supply Automation projects. This role is in Berlin CT and weekly travel (to be reimbursed by the client) is required. Other locations may also be required on occasion, such as Manchester NH and Boston MA.
This role is to start asap and end in Q1 2020.
The Solution Architect (SA) will work closely with the lead Portfolio Architect, the IT Product Center Manager, and the Project Manager of this project to organize the development effort and deliver technical solutions that satisfy the projects business objectives.The SA ensures that IT solutions meet current and proposed Eversource architecture standards, develops conceptual, preliminary, and detailed cross-functional design solutions and determines the application and technology requirements.The designs are reviewed with the lead SA and other SA peers in the architecture group and presented to both the project steering committee and IT management at large.The SA collaborates with the Business Solutions Analyst (BSA) to determine the non-functional requirements of the solution, including availability and scalability.The SA assists with all phases of the track including design, build, test, and implementation.
The Relay Settings Data Management project will implement across the customer's Protections & Controls (P&C) Engineering common business processes, procedures, and an Enterprise IT solution for managing configuration files for relay settings to ensure compliance with the NERC PRC-027-1 standard. In conjunction with implementing common business processes & procedures, the existing Doble / Enoserv PowerBase software/hardware platform will be upgraded and expanded to the enterprise to provide a technically current, enterprise solution that is vendor supported.This application is currently already used in-house. Additionally, the project will implement a common business process for deploying, updating and testing of P&C device settings by field engineers. This will be accomplished by updating the Doble Universal Controllers (DUCs) devices currently in place to leverage the Doble / EnoservPowerBase software functionality.The Solution Architect will assist in developing those common business processes.
The Gas Supply and End User Transmission (EUT) business area currently depends heavily on several processes that are manually intensive, often relying on manual extraction, data scrubbing, and calculations performed largely in Excel spreadsheets. These manual processes are a critical part of both the day-to-day and longer-term processes that the Gas Supply/EUT team must carry out to support the Gas Retail Choice program and its suppliers, with impacts to customer and financial data accuracy, regulatory/compliance requirements, reliability, maintainability, and cash flow. The purpose of this project is to create automated, systematic solutions to replace or supplement some of those manual processes, reducing the risks that result from the manual nature of these processes while increasing overall efficiency. The development work will be performed in-house by two vendors.
