We have been retained to fill a General Manager position with a privately owned, family-operated, Canadian company in the Animal Feed Industry. They are a solid company with a respected name in the industry, known for quality products and customer service. They are large enough to meet industry needs and agile enough to quickly make quality decisions that benefit customers, company, and staff. This position is based in their REGINA location. As a result of a retirement, this is an immediate, full-time opportunity.

The General Manager will be responsible for the leadership, management, and wellbeing of the business of this organization. You will be a key individual on the executive team, developing and implementing the growth and strategic short & long-term plan of the organization. You will report directly to the President and ultimately to the Board of Directors. Department heads including, but not limited to, Sales & Marketing, Purchasing, Accounting, Nutrition, and Operations Managers will report directly to the General Manager.

In this leadership role, your responsibilities will grow and expand.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Sales & Marketing

  • Responsible for the overall sales growth of the company
  • Oversee all aspects of the sales of products including the supervision of sales personnel
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships, alliances and partnerships with key people at primary customer accounts and within the industry at large

Human Resources

  • Provide leadership and direction to all teams, maintaining functional relationships with department heads, fostering teamwork and empowering employees to achieve company goals.
  • Recruit and release personnel as required in consultation with the President


  • Responsibility for setting selling prices for all products
  • Responsible for the production of quality products and ensuring that these are produced and shipped on time in accordance with the requirements of customers
  • Gain an understanding of the P&L to effectively spearhead the budgeting process, including budget review, authorization, implementation and final evaluation of targets achieved with the goal of increased profitability




As General Manager, your knowledge of sales, marketing, and the Canadian animal feed industry is supported by 7 - 20 years' of direct industry/management/leadership experience with post-secondary education in Business or Agriculture.
