THE OPPORTUNITY
 
An opportunity currently exists based within their head office / facility based in North Western Sydney for a suitably qualified and experienced person in the role of Electrical Project Manager within their dedicated industrial division.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working within its dedicated industrial team, this role will see you primarily responsible for the technical planning and execution of a number of client projects at one time ensuring their efficient and effective delivery by utilising your technical knowledge and prior hands-on expertise with industrial electrical technologies such as HV motors and VSD, switchgear, PLC's, process control systems and instrumentation.

You will provide high calibre engineering solutions, advice and service to a variety of clients across key industry sectors including (but not limited to) mining, oil & gas and manufacturing.

With prior experience in a client facing role, you will be adept at identifying opportunities to up-sell spare parts and services and ensure that customers return for their future projects and requirements.

An aspect of this role will see you develop excellent working relationships within the broader engineering team and effectively liaise with production and other internal staff to oversee the coordination of shipping to manage delivery of parts for projects.

To successfully meet the requirements of this role you will expected to undertake travel to client sites as required (local, interstate and overseas) to undertake preliminary assessments and manage the installation process and commissioning. It is envisaged that this would be approximately 2 weeks every 3 months plus other extraneous trips to Asia and Sth America on occasion as required.

KEY CRITERIA

  • Australian recognised Electrical Engineering qualifications (Essential)
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant Electrical Project Management experience 
  • A strong understanding of industrial electrical technologies and engineering solutions for complex or specialised requirements
  • A knowledge of parts, components and associated equipment used in heavy industrial environments eg Mining, Oil & Gas or manufacturing
  • Ability to take technical ownership of client projects and provide high calibre engineering solutions 
  • Previous experience in a client facing role
  • Strong technical problem solving abilities
  • Ability to establish and develop excellent working relationships with internal staff including management, engineering personnel and tradespeople 
  • Highly developed organisational and prioritising abilities 
  • A strong level of computer proficiency and ability to learn and utilise internal systems along with MS Office
  • Well developed people skills
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Shortlisted applicants will undergo an extensive questionnaire to gauge and evaluate their understanding and technical knowledge within the electrical engineering field.

This is a full-time salaried position which will see you playing a pivotal role within the business division and contribute to its ongoing success. You will report to the National Manager with standard hours of work being 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday. However travel overseas into Asia for a total of 8 weeks per year is expected in the scope of the role.A highly competitive salary is on offer to attract suitably experienced applicants.
