High profile position working directly with CIO and AVP and interface with all areas of the College.  Contract to Hire.  Will be eligible for State of NC benefits at the end of contract period.  Will work on many different projects with varying timelines.... will not be bored.


Immediate need for a Lead Project Coordinator with our Triad-based client!

Minimum of an AAS degree required.  Must be highly proficient with MS Office tools!  Experience with Agile processes a plus!

Project Coordinator provides specialized support of all projects within the portfolio for ITS and all ITS-related projects requiring IT resources from the office of the AVP and CIO.  

-    Limited supervision and must exercise initiative and independent judgment in setting priorities and carrying out all assignments for ITS-related projects within the portfolio.
-    Work effectively with individuals and serve as a liaison with staff and college leadership.  
-    Must have skills in tact, discretion, diplomacy, and good judgement.

-    Focus IT leadership efforts and provide/escalate data around the organizational aim of achieving an optimized mix among the IT project investments, making the best possible use of all resources and delivering the maximum value and benefits from projects and programs within the portfolio.
-    Skills in identifying, prioritizing, and coordinating project and program resources within the IT or IT-related project portfolio.
-    Primary resource to the IT governance steering committee and senior executives handling reporting of project state and performance dataResponsibility
-    Deadline monitoring, status of documentation, scheduled activities, or other issues requiring timely action/response and ensures follow through.
-    Track progress of innovation projects
-    Utilizs effective workflow systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
-    Primary liaison to the CIO.
-    Planning, scheduling, coordinating, and managing project(s).
-    Research and source information to assist CIO with specific projects.
-    Maintain project status reporting and develop presentations to key stakeholders and team
-    Coordinate project meetings
-    Compile historical data and present it for reference
-    Conduct training sessions (development/ implementation) using Agile or chosen project methodology.
-    Maintain budget records:
o    recommend expenditure requests,
o    monitor expenditures to ensure budget compliance
o    recommend and process budget transfers.  
o    Assist in developing draft budget proposals

-    Takes responsibility for special projects and other initiatives on behalf of the AVP & CIO.
-    Works with business unit leaders to develop project and program resourcing strategies to ensure optimum support for projects and day-to-day operational activities.
-    Conducts meetings with senior IT leaders and key stakeholders across the organization to validate IT’s understanding of business goals and effectively communicate the IT strategy.
-    Establishes and manages effective relationships between business partners and IT leaders
-    Collaborates with IT and other business leaders to build, execute and monitor a digitalization strategy.
-    Contributes to and supports the investment strategy for digital initiatives.
-    Works with business unit leaders to develop project and program resourcing strategies to ensure optimum support for projects and day-to-day operational activities.
-    Supports continuous alignment of project investments and initiatives with business strategy based on changing functional needs, resource capacity constraints, risk exposure, and interdependencies.
-    Coordinates special projects and other initiatives.
-    Assists AVP & CIO in reviewing management processes to ensure compliance with the organization's strategy for corporate governance of approved projects.
-    Influences sourcing strategy and ensures effective management of vendors and sourcing relationships.
-    Tracks IT budgeting and cost estimation approaches, resource allocation, and reallocation for cost-optimization.
-    Works with the AVP & CIO to translate business objectives to specific IT strategies, services and products.
-    Creates and communicates estimates of resources, timelines, and risks for delivering proposed strategies and plans.
-    Engage with and conduct quarterly (or at other intervals as specified) reviews with senior business, IT, executives, stakeholder committees, the IT governance committee and other relevant bodies to validate and assess the project portfolio, execute change, and reprioritize to meet business needs as required.
-    Direct the development and maintenance of communications and reporting around the IT project portfolios, their contents and the individual performance of initiatives to stakeholder and/or governance boards, the IT governance committee, and senior leadership.
-    Compliance training is required within the first 30 days of hire with annual refreshers:
       o    Ethics
     o    Safety/Shooter
     o    Personal Information Protection Training (PIP)
     o    Anti-Discrimination/Harassment
     o    Title IX



-    Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Project Server or other comparable project management software
-    More than 5 years of recent progressively responsible experience providing project management support to a manager or executive
-    Experience in an academic setting
-    Recent experience with an enterprise student information system (e.g., Colleague)
-    Possess an intermediate knowledge of database programs (e.g., Access)
-    Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
-    Demonstrate initiative in upgrading skills with professional development opportunities.
-    Ability to handle paperwork and confidential information with discretion and sensitivity.
-    Exceptional organizational skills and deadline management to prioritize projects and tasks.
-    Work efficiently and calmly under pressure.
-    Strong verbal skills and personable manner in dealing with stakeholders in person and on the phone.
-    Compose correspondence with correct punctuation and grammar.
-    Strong proofreading skills.
-    Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form.
-    Punctuality and flexibility in time management.
-    Neat, professional appearance.
-    Proficient computer skills.
-    Accuracy and attention to detail is a must
-    Ability to organize and maintain files for ready access.
-    Must be willing to work flexible schedules as needed.
