JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary Responsibilities reduce down-time on equipment through preventive maintenance program.

Reports Direclty to: Site Plant Manager  Relates closely with: All Management, Engineering and Operations.

Reports: Will have increasing supervisory responsibilities as the year progresses.

Continuing responsibilities include : 

  • Master complex machine repairs including the coordination of outside resources.
  • Independently capable of operating all machine tools without supervision.
  • Must have electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills from power source to machine.    
  • Determine the best method and use judgment to determine safest steps to complete repairs.     
  • Follow preventive maintenance schedule on critical equipment and update PM program.
  • Follow job ticket system.
  • Some emergency repairs as needed with some off-shift work

95% equipment up time measured by maintenance management program. 

PM program is up to date and being utilized to best extent

Safety – No accidents and demonstrated results of fixing “unsafe” conditions or equipment

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical certification or degree required in electrical, hydraulic, or other industrial maintenance trades.
  • Proven success as an experienced maintenance technician, 5+ years' experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with hydraulic presses and mixers or similar equipment.
  • Must have experience with Preventive Maintenance program.
  • Must have worked in some sort of leadership role in maintenance.
  • Computer skills and experience including FIIX CMMS  (Asset Maintenance System)
  • Strong commitment to success with a “Can Do/Will Do” attitude and optimistic demeanor.
  • Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities concurrently and maintain a calm demeanor and optimistic outlook. 
  • Ability to deal with vendors on the phone and/or on-site visits.
  • Self-starter who can work effectively with others or alone.
