Lead Systems Engineer

Manage a wide variety of technical and engineering functions, including application support in testing and development environments, software deployment, and configuration and system monitoring. This position reports in partnership with our CIO and reports directly to the CTO.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience supporting, monitoring and troubleshooting high performance applications.
  • Must have extensive experience with AWS, data centers, networking, MySQL and Citrix environment
  • 3+ years of prior experience working with FIX protocol and alternative exchange protocols.
  • 5+ years of script development experience with Python, Java/JavaScript
  • 5+ years of SQL experience including queries/updates/table creation/basic database maintenance.
  • 5+ years of experience in Linux & Windows platform support
  • 5+ years of experience supporting electronic trading systems; prior experience at proprietary trading firm preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of network communications, including use of multicast networking.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree
  • Self-motivation and intellectual curiosity; desire to continually self-improve and seek continual improvements in production support function.
  • High level of ownership and accountability, reliability, and strong follow through
  • Ability to handle pressure and time constraints with composure.
  • Strong organizational skills, including ability to effectively plan and prioritize.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Core Duties:

  • Manages and monitors all installed systems and infrastructure for the organization to be in line with our guidelines/standard operating procedure.
  • Defines client needs and functionality in a service development cycle.
  • Assists in the coordination of various teams testing and evaluating for the development of design and its implementation of the best output.
  • Installs, configures, and tests operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Ensures the highest level of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Implements warranty and support activities.
  • Evaluates the existing systems and provides the technical direction to IT support staff.
  • Plans and implements system automation as required for better efficiency.
  • Oversees the development of customized software and hardware requirement.
  • Collaborates with other professionals to ensure high quality deliverables within organization guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Deals with work process, optimization methods, and risk management tools in the given projects for the successful accomplishments according to the requirements of the stakeholders.

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
