Job Summary

 

We are looking for a leader to drive product development, who will provide entrepreneurial leadership, guidance and training to new and existing team members as well as serve as a subject matter expert in the area of product management. You will define and implement product management processes, tools and governance procedures, as well as map out the overall product road map and strategy.

 

As a leader of the product management group, the main goal is the commercial success of current product lines and smooth transition to new product lines with a focus on services and solutions. Responsibility spans from structuring new business and market alliances, to the selection of partners and channels, structuring business alliances to create new value added services, increasing revenue in the present market share (Canadian FI and Government Market) as well as in other market verticals.

 

Interface to Global Product Management, Sales, IT, Operations and 3rd party partners for a professional execution of product strategy into market.

 

Reporting to the VP, Business/Market Development and Project Management, the candidate will be accountable for driving a portfolio of new product development projects. He or she will be responsible for assessing market needs and trends, defining product strategies and operational requirements, managing the product lifecycle, and ensuring the successful execution and delivery of product launches and enhancements.

 

As Leader Product Development, you will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and manage a Product Management team focused on Market and Business Development.

·         Analysis and evaluation of business processes and business requirements in close collaboration with product managers taking the full value chain into consideration

·         Identify, track, manage and mitigate risk and exposure on project engagements.

·         Keep abreast of and analyze market trends and needs to successfully identify new product development and/or enhancement opportunities that are aligned with organizational objectives.

·         Perform regular competitive analyses, and develop strong product positioning strategies for various Company products.

·         Develop and implement business plans with metrics and indicators to project the financial performance of new products and solutions.

·         Analyze and explore potential partnerships for Company products.

·         Define product vision, development strategy and key requirements of new products, and communicate specific needs to internal stakeholders involved in the development process.

·         Responsible for ROI.

·         Works closely with Sales to understand the client requirements, needs and opportunities for customized products and features and develop clear and compelling business cases for new products and features, and obtain buy-in for proposed plans and budgets..

  • Comply with G&D Environmental, Health & Safety  policies, procedures and report any Environmental, Health & Safety hazards, incidents and concerns to the immediate supervisor/manager. Management will ensure employees are provided with job specific Environmental, Health & Safety information, training and also ensure employees follow workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures.

 

Qualifications, Experience and Educational Requirements

 

Work Experience:

 

·         8+ years of technology product management experience in a large organization.

·         Solid experience in Mobile Payment Ecosystem (HCE, RFID in the Telco  and Banking applications) and Smart Card products in banking domain is desirable.

 

Skills & Competencies:

 

·         Outstanding Leadership Skills.

·         Expert in software tools and systems, and in particular: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio.

·         Innovative approach to identify feasible product re-prioritizations that can succeed in new business verticals using the same platform.

·         Ability to build go-to-market strategy based on market data and competitive analysis.

·         Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

·         Business acumen and strong presentation skills.

·         A communication facilitator acting as a “translator” between technical and sales teams.

·         Forward thinking  with structured, systematic and decision making work attitude

·         Exhibiting Courage and Smart Risk Driven Approach.

Education:

 

·         Minimum BE / BTech Electronics/ Telecommunication/ Computer Science or Business equivalent from reputed university.
