of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of office
and plant by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate maintenance technicians.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reviews job orders to determine work priorities then schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
Provides hands-on assistance in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment. This includes a working understanding of the electrical circuitry, hydraulic system, pneumatic system, combustion system, and mechanical operation of the equipment as required.
Directs maintenance employees engaged in dismantling, assembling and installing equipment.
Reviews production schedules and estimates worker time requirements for job assignments adjusting work procedures to meet production schedules.
Maintains time and work records.
Provides direct equipment-specific training for maintenance employees.
Requisitions and maintains spare parts inventory.
Conducts monthly departmental information meetings including safety reviews.
Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
Develops and maintains preventive maintenance program in conjunction with operations and maintenance staff.
Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
Directs training and indoctrination of maintenance workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
Confers with management, extrusion, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
Writes technical reports and develops charts, graphs and schematics to describe and illustrate system’s operational characteristics, malfunctions, and deviations from design specifications and functional limitations.
Sets up standard test apparatus or devises test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production model.
Adjusts, calibrates, aligns and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Path to becoming Director of Maintenance.   
- Maintenance and Machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Build a team and be a leader of men, paint a clear vision, explain and create buy-in and hold accountable.
- Problem solving abilities.  Equipment uptime (what's causing downtime/correct it/plan); Build a PM program (needs to be a better) make it as functional as can be;  Budgetary management (repair schedule/capital expenses, etc) - be able to manage the budget and have enough business acumen. 
- BSME preferred, but not an absolute requirement.
Up to $110K + bonus.

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
