The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for this food grade product manufacturing facility and will create value for the facility by performing preventive and corrective maintenance that leads to increased up-time and reliability of their equipment. Work effectively with all engineering groups on site to provide support for projects.
Promote innovation by improving efficiency of work processes and provide solutions for potential equipment upgrades to support ongoing research.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment. Assists in developing maintenance procedures.
Proactively identify and correct potential equipment failures and unsafe conditions.
Maintain inventory of spare parts, equipment logs and equipment documentation required to maintain safe and efficient operations.
Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Comply with Ingredion safety guidelines and procedures (LOTO, Hotwork, etc).
Strive to deliver the highest level of service to internal customers and adjust/flex hours to support key initiatives and repair critical equipment.
Coordinate with outside contractors to augment skills in completion of projects and tasks.
Qualified candidates will have:
High school diploma and 5-10 years of maintenance experience in the key skill areas such as: Hydraulic system and agitator performance maintenance, piping fitting, basic welding, sanitary design & installation, filter & trap operation and rigging equipment.
Basic understanding of automation controls
Troubleshooting of motors, pumps, vacuum systems, compressors, etc.
Fork Truck certification desired (will train)
Valid driver’s license
Willingness to work overtime when necessary to complete assignments or support department activities
Ability to complete work orders and projects with limited supervision
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Computer proficiency in Microsoft applications and job-based internet searches
