This is a new position in this beverage producing facility.  The work had been done by contractors and various manitenance people but the company has decided it's best to have their own expert on board.  Thsi person will be able to build the position.  Although there are no direct reports, two maintenance technicians want to learn more and assist as needed.  The compnay has a family feel to it and has not had a layoff during the pandemic!  Mangement in this facility have each been there for many years.  


Thsi person will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, installing, and recommending control changes or practices on production lines.  They will also find and implement control change to maximize efficiency within the plant.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Visually and electronically inspect and identify control equipment issues and troubleshoot and repair as needed to ensure line efficiencies. 
  • Direct maintenance technicians in installing control equipment to sustain or improve operational efficiencies. 
  • Install, maintain, repair, and replace control equipment by leveraging internal knowledge and vendors. 
  • Train electricians and maintenance staff on how to maintain control on electrical systems. 
  • Configure and maintain industrial networks such as Ethernet, Devicenet, Controlnet, DH+ and Remote I/O to enable continuous operation of equipment. 
  • Program control equipment of machines to facilitate use by other employees and ensure machines function meet production demands. 


  • Proficient with PLC/HMI/SCADA programming, electrical design, Variable Frequency Drive’s, Industrial Electrical hardware 
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience OR High School diploma and Controls Systems Certification with 7+ years working with controls in industrial manufacturing.  Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering preferred.
  • Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and Networks (Devicenet, Controlnet, DH+, Remote I/O and Ethernet). Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation, sensors (PNP, NPN), Transmitters (Temperature, Flow, Conductivity, pH, Pressure). Knowledge of Servo motors. 
  • Ability to work with and lead a team maintenance technicians.  Ability to interact and work with other departments. 
  • Some travel.  Ability to work nights and weekends as needed. 

University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
